Please Note

All day (AM) lab classes are 8:30 am4:30 pm; All evening (PM) lab classes are 4:30 pm–12:30 am.
All seminars are held in the evening (PM) from 6pm until 9pm.

How large are the classes?
The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts prides itself on low student to instructor
ratio in order to optimize learning potential. Class size is restricted to 15
students per instructor.


How many hours a week am I in class?
All programs meet for 19 hours per week: 8 hours per lab class and 3 hours per
seminar. Students are able to work full or part time while in school.

How long are the programs?
The Professional Chef's Program is 37 weeks long or 744 clock hours (a clock
hour is a 50-60 minute period of instruction time)

The Professional Pastry Program is 37 weeks long or 744 clock hours (a clock
hour is a 50-60 minute period of instruction time)

The Culinary Certificate Program is 16 weeks long or 326 clock hours (a clock
hour is a 50-60 minute period of instruction time)

The Certificate Pastry Program is 16 weeks long or 326 clock hours (a clock
hour is a 50-60 minute period of instruction time)

What degree will I receive?
The CSCA is not a Title IV school, therefore, it does not award degrees.

With successful completion of the Professional Chef's Program, students earn a
Culinary Arts Diploma

With successful completion of the Professional Pastry Program, students earn a
Pastry Arts Diploma

With successful completion of the Culinary Certificate Program, students earn a
Certificate of Completion

With successful completion of the Certificate Pastry Program, students earn a
Certificate of Completion

Can I get a student loan?
The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts is not a Title IV school. Students who are
in the need of a personal loan may contact the School's loan officer for help in
obtaining a personal loan. loans@cambridgeculinary.com

Is the tuition due in full before I start school?
Tuition can be paid in full or on a quarterly basis. See the School's accountant
for the payment schedule.

Does The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts offer scholarships?
The Alumni Association offers the Kit Campaign Scholarship, which covers the
cost of a student's equipment kit. In addition, the Admissions Department is
able to help students apply for scholarships funded by various culinary
organizations.

Am I required to live on campus?
The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts does not provide student housing. There is
an abundance of housing/apartment rentals in the Cambridge/Boston area.

Where is the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts located?
The CSCA is located in Cambridge, MA, minutes from Harvard Square and three
miles from downtown Boston. The MBTA Red Line and Commuter Rail Porter Square
station is a 3-block walk from the school. Several bus lines run on Massachusetts Ave., enabling students to commute from area locales.

Driving Directions

Will I receive job placement assistance?
The CSCA's Career Placement Office receives dozens of job postings per week. The
Career Placement Coordinator assesses the job/career desires of each student to
help him or her obtain culinary positions upon graduation.

What type of job can I expect when I graduate?
Positions vary depending on the level of experience and what type of position a
student desires. Entry-level positions include: prep cook, dessert plater, assistant pastry
cook, line cook, sauté cook, garde manger, baker, banquet cooks, personal chef.
