CSCA Hosts First Alumni Social
On Monday, October 20, 2003, the first CSCA Graduate Networking Social was proven successful. Seventy alumni were welcomed into the newly renovated "E" Kitchen space. Judy Mattera '89, Consulting Chef for Robert Mondavi Family of Wines, hosted the event. Mattera provided three selections of Chilean wines with both sweet and savory pairings. An Errazuric Cabernet Sauvignon was paired with a cherry pound cake with chilled Cabernet Sabayonne. An Arboleda Carmenere was served with a black mission fig crostata with Carmenere reduction and a Caliterra Sauvignon Blanc was served Herbed Chevre Tart.
Steve DiFillippo '84 represented the earliest graduation year. Paul Miller '88, Mark Yell '89, and Judy Duffy '90 visited for the first time since their respective graduations. CSCA Chef Instructors Jan Schiff '90, Deb Steinfeld '90, and Stephan Viau '92 also attended.
Eleven graduates attended from the 1996-1998 class years. Gerry Connolly '96 and Alvin Davis '96 reminisced about class days while Michelle Itzkowitz '97 bonded with former classmates and with alumni from classes in which she assisted after her own graduation.
The CSCA Alumni Association requested a $10 donation at the door, which will benefit the Scholarship Fund currently being established.
Graduate Networking Socials are scheduled throughout the year. A complete listing of events can be found in the CSCA Newsletter and on the website.
