Food Network's Road Tasted Showcases CSCA Graduate Toni Chiapetta '86

One of the Food Network's newest programs is Road Tasted, staring Paula Deen's two sons Jamie and Bobby Deen. The brothers travel the country in search of unique, local, hand-crafted foods. Stopping in towns, cities, and road-side eateries along America's highways, the two are finding delicacies, which can be delivered to viewers' doors, such as Cabernet Grape Pie. In the "Northern California Here We Come" episode, the pair visited the Napa Valley bakery Sweetie Pies, owned by Toni Chiapetta, graduate of the CSCA's Professional Chef's Program in 1996. She also attended Peter Kump's Institute of Culinary Education. She worked in the pastry departments of Icarus Restaurant in Boston, Sfuzzi in Philadelphia, and Bistro Don Giovani in the Napa Valley before opening the bakery. Sweetie Pies creates wedding and specialty cakes, pies, including her famous Cabernet Grape Pie, cookies, breakfast pastries, and other treats. Find out more about Toni and Sweetie Pies at www.sweetiepies.com. She has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Sunset Magazine, and on Food Finds (Food Network).
