Slow Food Boston Hosts "Cooking with Nonna" at The CSCA on May 10th

The Mediterranean region has traditionally followed the slow food precepts of sustainable, local, and seasonal. The producers of the Internet show "Cooking with Nonna" showcase Italian regional food traditions, and these virtues of eating are deliciously demonstrated in the webisodes.

Slow Food Boston presents "Cooking with Nonna—A Demonstration and Talk about Traditional Italian Food from the Puglian Region of Italy" on Tuesday, May 10, at 6:30pm in the kitchens of The CSCA. Web cooking personality Rossella Rago hosts the event along with her own grandmother, Romana, and Roberta Dowling, owner of The CSCA. Rossella and the two Nonnas will prepare four Puglian specialty dishes: Spring Vegetables in Pastella, dipped in batter and lightly fried in olive oil; Nonna's Orecchiette with Cauliflower Sauce; Trio do Polpi (octopus grilled two ways and cooked in its own water); and Cartellate di Primavera (two layers of cartellate pasta with a scoop of extra virgin olive oil gelato).

Dishes will be served as small plates and will be paired with wines from Puglia.

The event costs $45.00 for Slow Food Boston members and $50.00 for non-members. To register with paypal, visit www.slowfoodboston.com. To learn more about Rossella Rago, visit her website www.cookingwithnonna.com.
