TLC Features CSCA Instructor Lisa Raffael in Fabulous Cakes Episode


[January 31, 2011] CSCA chef instructor Lisa Raffael will appear in The Learning Channel's (TLC) Fabulous Cakes program in an episode titled "Boston: Up, Up, and Away." For the episode, TLC crews follow Chef Lisa at her bakery, Delicious Desserts, in Falmouth, Massachusetts, as she constructs a beautiful hot-air balloon wedding cake.

The episode airs Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at 10:00pm; Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at 1:00am; and Monday, February 21, 2011, at 1:00pm (check local listings).

A three-time Food Network Cake Challenge medalist, Raffael has earned scores of accolades and awards, including Brides Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful Cakes, features in bridal magazines and books, and pick of Best of Boston and Best of Cape Cod over several consecutive years.

Raffael graduated from The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in 1992. She completed advanced training at The Culinary Institute of America in New York and the International School of Confectionary Arts, training with world-renowned chocolatier Norman Love of Norman Love Confections and internationally acclaimed cake designer Colette Peters. She is also a graduate of Boston University's School of Management. She currently teaches baking in The CSCA's Professional Chef's and Culinary Certificate Programs.
