Nestled in the Hillcrest section of San
Diego, just moments away from downtown, you will find Hash House
A Go-Go; a well loved restaurant owned by Chef Craig "Andy"
Beardslee. Chef Beardslee grew up on a farm in the Midwest and
came to The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in 1987 with the dream of
becoming a Chef and eventually owing his own restaurant. He arrived in
San Diego in 1992 discovering many Midwesterners, but not a lot of
Midwestern food. Thus, the concept for Hash House A Go-Go was born!
The culinary theme of this ultra hot spot is
Midwestern Fusion. The menu evokes memories of the heartland, and has
been nicknamed "twisted farm food" by the locals. The dining room
resembles an ultra modern roadside cafe with a fresh twist. Customers
can admire the farm motif while seated at brushed aluminum tables with
generous banquettes for maximum comfort.
CSCA Founder/Director Roberta Dowling visited Hash
House A Go-Go recently and pronounced it "wonderful and zany!"
